Types Of Fostering
Short Term Fostering
Short-term fostering can be anything from an overnight stay to several months. Usually short term fostering provides a safe place for a child to live, while social services work to resolve a longer term care plan.
Long Term Fostering
This allows a child to grow up in a safe and supportive environment with their foster family while having regular contact with their family.
Emergency Placements
The length of time the child stays with you is assessed on a case to case bases. You will need to be prepared to care for the child with short notice.
Respite
Providing some space for foster families, enabling foster carers to take some time to themselves and recharge their batteries. Whilst providing foster children with the chance to develop a new positive, secure and trusting relationship with another adult in their life.
